Definition of BNC cable, connector

Special type of coaxial cable consisting of inner signal wire and the protective cylindrical grid which protects the signal wire placed in its centre from surrounding electromagnetic noise. They are usually used in an audio frequency range. The connection between such cables or devices is standardised and uses a special type of BNC connector, which uses a coupling nut to securely connect male and female connectors.
