Definition of Capacitor

Passive electronic component with characteristic property – capacitance, typically in the pF - µF range (F = Farad). Mostly used capacitors are:

  • ceramic (independent of current direction, do not have polarity), and
  • electrolytic (dependent on current direction, do have polarity).
