RVmagnetics MicroWire sensor provides measurements in a contactless nature. We gather the measurements with a sensing head; it consists of two coils: The excitation coil generates a few milliamperes of magnetic field, thus exciting the MicroWire, the second, Sensing coil gathers the response of the MicroWire through the magnetic field.
