Definition of Thermocouple (TC)

A specific type of thermometer which is based on the measurement of thermoelectric voltage generated by thermocouple's leads. Its advantages are: it is fast and typically has a low price. The main disadvantage is that the usage requires qualified personnel with at least basic knowledge about thermocouples.
